SkyFire Energy Merges with Landon Aldridge and Terratek Okanagan

Recently we sat down with our new Partner and VP of Operations for SkyFire Energy in British Columbia, Landon Aldridge to learn more about the person behind our BC operations. SkyFire is extremely excited to have Landon and his team on board to even better serve our BC customers and assist them in adopting reliable solar power.

How did you get into the solar industry?

In my previous life as a Construction Manager, I always had an interest in the “Green Building” side of things. I was and still am passionate about natural building techniques such as straw-bale and rammed earth. I spent 6 years living and working in California and began to see more and more solar. As there was no solar training available in Canada at that time, a good friend and I completed some training in the US, and we both became hooked.

How many years experience do you have in the solar industry?

Together with that good friend of mine, we started Terratek Energy in 2005. I have been in the solar industry for 15 years.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Penticton, BC but was mostly raised in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island.

What does a great workday look like for you?

I really enjoy meeting new people and really enjoy educating people on why solar is such an amazing technology. But the ultimate satisfaction is turning a customer’s system on for the first time and watching their excitement as they produce their own power!

Why did you want to join forces with SkyFire?

I have known the SkyFire founders for about 12 years. We have always been friendly competitors and colleagues. We share many of the same goals and ideals. Combined, we are the most experienced solar contractors in Western Canada. It makes sense to combine our resources and knowledge and strive for the same goal.

SkyFire is a dog organization. Tell us about your dog.

No dog, don’t hold it against me!

What do you like to do on days off?

We enjoy spending time as a family which includes growing food, hiking, biking, spending time at the beach, skiing, and traveling.

The best thing about living in the Okanagan.

We have great sun in the summer months and great snow in the winter. Fantastic fruit, produce, wine, and cider. Beautiful lakes and steep mountains.

Landon and his team would be delighted to help you achieve your dream of solar power whether for your home, business, school, vineyard, or farm.  You can contact them directly at 778-476-8149, toll-free at 1-87-SKYFIRE-1, or fill out this contact form to be contacted for a no-obligation assessment of your home or business.
