Residential Solar Electric
Most jurisdictions in Canada allow businesses and homeowners to generate their own environmentally friendly electricity and feed it into the grid. There are actually incentives for doing this in some jurisdictions! Ontario’s Feed-in-Tarriff makes an investment in solar one of the best investments on the planet offering a premium for solar energy exported to the grid. Saskatchewan offers grants for the installation of grid-connected solar electric systems as do many municipalities including Medicine Hat in Alberta. SkyFire Energy also has extensive experience with the design and installation of battery based solar electric systems. Although more of an investment, battery back up systems are sometimes necessary or desired for applications where power failures are more frequent or sensitive equipment needs to be protected. Off-grid systems are a cost competitive solution to provide electricity to remote locations.
